At Greenmeadow, we believe that all children should be given the opportunity to achieve their potential regardless of background.  In order to ensure that no child is left behind we identify, assess and support those with challenges to their learning.  We are committed to ensuring that all children are fully included in all aspects of the curriculum and school life.  All staff at the school are committed to working in partnership with parents/carers in order to achieve this aim.

The pupil premium is a government initiative which provides extra funding to schools for children in identified groups. Research has shown that these children are at risk of underachievement compared to their peers.  The pupil premium is provided to enable them to be supported in order to achieve their potentials.

Free School Meals and Pupil Premium - Information on how to apply 

Pupil premium is additional funding provided to schools for supporting more disadvantaged children to ensure they benefit from the same opportunities as their peers. There are three categories of children that qualify for pupil premium:

• Those who are eligible for free school meals (FSM)
• Looked after children
• Armed forces children 

The pupil premium grant is used each year to target support towards these children in order to close gaps in attainment with the aim to ensure that these vulnerable learners achieve their full potential.  This includes those who are attaining below their peers as well as those who are gifted and talented.  A pupil premium action plan based on the needs of eligible children is completed each financial year detailing how the money we receive will be used to help them achieve their potential. At the end of each financial year, the success of the action plan is analysed and reported to the school governors to ensure that the grant has been used successfully to improve outcomes for vulnerable children.
