Justin Tomlinson visited with his assistant, Harriet, on Monday 3rd June 2013. He led an assembly about how Parliament runs and, afterwards, was interviewed by our team of Y6 reporters. Scroll down to read the results.
1)Q: What's it like in parliament?
A: Parliament is huge! I even got lost in a kitchen once, it was really embarrassing because I had to ask someone for help!
2)Q: What's the trickiest situation you have ever been in?
A: When people from the media come and interview me for newspapers and about stuff I don’t know.
(3)Q: How did you feel when you where elected for parliament?
A: It was an amazing feeling! I had been trying for 7 years so when I heard at 5 am that I was elected I was over the moon!
4)Q: Have you ever met David Cameron, if you have what was he like?
A: Yes, he was friendly and funny, I also had dinner in his flat.
5)Q: have you ever met the queen if you have what was she like?
A: Well I have seen her but never met her in person.
6)Q: Do you like being a member of parliament?
A: Yes! It's fantastic! It's what I always wanted!
7)Q: Are you originally from Swindon?
A:No I moved here after college.
8)Q: How long do you spend in London?
A: Monday to Thursday for a half a year.
9)Q: what did you do before you were elected?
A: I had a printing business but I had to sell it when I got elected.
